Objective The House of Marketing
Research, established in 1973, is a Los Angeles-based
research company offering services tailored to a broad
spectrum of quantitative and qualitative methodologies.
Currently, the company is experiencing a growth period
and has enlisted the help of the CIS Media Design Team
for a complete web site assessment and strategic redesign
to better promote consultancy service offerings to corporate
clientele, to build stronger corporate branding, and
to attract new customers with a more dynamic web presence.
HMR-Research required a web site which would act as
an effective online marketing tool, and which would
facilitate every facet of the customer experience.
Their
aim is to project a professional online image, to effectively
sell their market research services, to increase traffic,
and to streamline operational processes.

The CIS Media Design Team created and devised a comprehensive
online strategy that includes:
- Creating an enticing web presence that avoids alienating
the target audience and communicates the company message,
while remaining informative and allowing for easy
online navigation.
- Creating a real time dynamic calendar reservations
system to automatically reserve and show available
dates for reserving their Market Focus Group conference
rooms.
- Working closely with HMR-Research to create a front-end
application that would interface seamlessly with the
back-end being internally developed by the HMR-Research
team.
- Proposing a new web site architecture
that gives emphasis to HMR-Research's key online services.
Solution During our initial strategy session with
HMR-Research, the CIS Media Design Team discussed and
identified target audiences and outlined business objectives.
We collaborated with the HMR-Research staff to understand
their goals and objectives as well as their philosophy
and corporate culture. CIS Media conducted extensive user
interviews as a foundation for information architecture
of every element of the HMR-Research web site. They also
worked closely with CIS Media's development and graphical
design team to create more functionality, develop the
look and feel of the site, while extending corporate online
branding.
Result
The majority of the HMR-Research web site infrastructure
remains in place with very little updating. The redesign
reaches HMR-Research's customer base through the imagery
and graphic design, which creates a look that is clean
and informative. In the background, an easy to use navigation
system and interactive pages encourages user interaction.
The CIS Media Design Team has been successful in completely
transforming HMR-Research's web site into an effective
marketing vehicle, focusing on its mission and spirit,
attracting target audience, and generating interest for
their services.
